Jenna Fiello, RP

I’m Jenna Fiello

I’m so happy to have you here! Let me tell you a bit about who I am…

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with a Bachelors degree in Social Work with a minor in psychology, and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counselling. I am an ally to many, including 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities (to name a few).

As you can likely tell by the name, I am a strong believer in using a humanistic approach to therapy. Ultimately, humanistic therapy is about fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and authenticity, where clients can explore their inner world, gain insights, and work towards realizing their full potential as human beings. Let’s get real together and find out what the beauty of being human means for you.

I want to meet you wherever you are in your healing journey to help you heal core wounds to restore balance and cope with emotional difficulties. I am here to help you explore the roots of your concerns, help you meet your goals, and to find ways to foster a more enriching and empowering life. In other words, I am here to walk through the shit with you (let’s be real—we are all human. We’ve all stepped in it once or twice).

In my work, I'd like to help you begin to make sense of your own experience and learn new coping skills to help you "find you" and bring yourself back home; whatever that may look like for you. I believe that every individual's journey is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and goals. Through open and honest dialogue, we will collaboratively develop strategies to help you navigate life's challenges and cultivate a deeper connection with yourself.

My Approach

Aside from everything mentioned above, I use a few different modalities to help clients with different kinds of needs…

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT is centred around the concept of psychological flexibility, which involves the ability to adapt and respond effectively to life's challenges. ACT is designed to help individuals develop psychological flexibility and effectively manage a wide range of emotional and behavioural challenges.

Eye Movement Desensitization and reProcessing Therapy

EMDR therapy is a proven method for treating trauma and distressing experiences. This involves recalling traumatic memories while focusing on external stimuli like hand movements or sounds to help reprocess memories that still hold an emotional charge for you today. EMDR aims to alleviate symptoms and promote deeper emotional healing by processing what’s at the root of your presenting concerns. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I offer a safe space for individuals seeking relief from trauma-related symptoms.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

DBT blends principles of CBT with elements of acceptance and mindfulness strategies. DBT assists clients with learning new coping skills to improve distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Cognitive behavioural therapy

CBT is a form of psychotherapy that helps people learn how to identify their own distressing thinking patterns and replace them with more helpful and objective processes. It involves the art of recognizing and challenging negative core beliefs. There is more to it, I promise! But I can tell you more about this later on.
